How do I set my username and password?

For an individual account, you have to use your email ID, which replaces the 8-digit user code.

For a corporate or joint account, the 8-digit user code is provided by our system. It cannot be changed.

When you sign in for the first time, you will be able to define your user ID and password. To do so:

  • Go to nbdb.ca and click Sign in
  • Then click Access the platform followed by Create your secure access
  • Follow the instructions

This first connection must be done through a browser on your mobile device or computer. You will not be able to do this using the NBC Wealth app if you have not already created your digital profile or haven't already migrated to single sign-on user ID.

Your account number can be found in the welcome email, which is sent to you 24 hours after your account has been opened.

if you already have a National Bank online account, your ID and password remain the same. Otherwise, here are the criteria if you must create one:

  • The password must not contain your name.
  • It must contain a minimum of 12 characters of both numbers and letters.
  • It must include at least one lower-case letter.
  • Adding a combination of upper and lower cases is important.

Your password must be a minimum of 12 characters, contain both numbers and letters, include at least one lower-case letter and not contain your name. Case (upper or lower) is important.

After this first sign-in, you can change your password in your Profile and preferences section at any time.
