How can I link a bank account to my direct brokerage account?

Link a bank account

You have a bank account with National Bank or another financial institution o; follow the steps below to link your bank account to your brokerage account
 

  1. Log in to your online banking through the website at https://nbdb.ca/ 
  2. Go to the My profile section by clicking on your name at the top right of the screen 
  3. Click the Accounts tab in the side menu. 
  4. Click Bank Accounts
  5. Click Link an Account
  6. You will arrive on Flinks; click Accept and Continue 
  7. Search for your bank in the financial institutions search bar and follow the instructions
     

Note: You must wait for the account to be verified before you can request a fund transfer into your brokerage account. Once your account is verified, you’ll be able to see it in the available accounts for fund transfers. Please note that this can take between 1-2 business days.
 

Important information

You can link up to three bank accounts per currency to your profile.

To remove a bank account from your profile, simply contact us via secure Message Centre with the mention 'Remove my bank account' and the full account number to be removed.

Open a bank account with NBC

You want to open a bank account with BNC to link it to your brokerage account; follow the steps below:

  1. Log in to your online banking through the website at https://nbdb.ca/ 
  2. Go to the My profile section by clicking on your name at the top right of the screen
  3. Click the Accounts tab in the side menu. 
  4. Click Bank Accounts 
  5. Click Open a Bank Account
  6. You will be redirected to the account opening process with NBC, then follow the steps to open your account

What will be the transit number associated with my BNC account opened through the BNCD platform? 
For a first account opened with BNC, the transit number will correspond to the branch closest to the address provided. If you already have an account, the new account will be linked to the branch that was previously assigned to it.
