How long does it take for a money transfer to be added to my account?

If you used the online brokerage platform or direct brokerage app:  

  • If the request was made before 4 p.m. and the funds come from National Bank, the deposit will be made the same day. 
  • If the funds come from another financial institution, the deposit will be made within 48 business hours. 

If you mailed a cheque to National Bank Direct Brokerage:

  • The deposit will be made on the day the cheque is received, if it is received before 3 p.m.

If you requested a money transfer from our telephone team or Message centre:

  • If the funds come from a National Bank account and the request was made before 3 p.m., your deposit will be made the same day. 
  • If the funds come from another financial institution’s account, your deposit will be made within 24 to 48 hours.
