Which documents/notices are available on the secured site?

You can view your trade confirmations online when you access your brokerage account. All you have to do is log in to your account, click on “Accounts” and then select “Electronic Documents”.

Note: Electronic documents are archived and available for up to seven years when the account is still openned.

I no longer receive my trade confirmation notices by mail; why?

Confirmation notices are available online. If you haven’t changed your delivery preferences to keep receiving them by mail, they are only available online. You can access them via the “Electronic Documents” tab in your brokerage account.

How can I receive my documents by mail?
National Bank Direct Brokerage provides electronic confirmation notices. If you prefer to receive them by mail, all you have to do is change your delivery preferences (see procedure below) or contact us.

Please note that you can change your delivery preferences at any time, at no charge.

Procedure to change your preferences: 

  1. Log into your online brokerage account
  2. Click on the “Accounts” tab
  3. Click on “Electronic Documents”
  4. Choose the “Delivery Preferences” tab
  5. Choose your preference: electronic or paper

What are your fees and commissions?

Fees and commissions vary depending on the type of account you have and the number of transactions you execute. We invite you to browse our Pricing section for all the details.

I need to change my address. How should I proceed?

If, in addition to your NBDB brokerage account, you also have other accounts at National Bank, all you have to do is call Telnat at 1-888-Telnat-1 or log into your banl account at Your change of address will be applied to all of your accounts.

If you wish, you can also call us. We will be happy to change your mailing address over the phone.

When do you send my portfolio statements?

According to securities regulation, National Bank Direct Brokerage must send you a portfolio statement every month during which you carry out transactions, or once per quarter (March, June, September and December) if there is no activity in your account.

The British Columbia Unclaimed Property Society website provides all the relevant details regarding unclaimed property.
